Not too much of a surprise from me.  Security 14.  Because its in the slip and has formed itself to it, its safe to say this is the SAK for me.

Some serious SAK goodness.  I think you have all your bases covered.

Cheers, Sos. It’s. Great combo.

Something small and light today. I got in some aftermarket 84mm scales in natural canvas Micarta, and popped them on my now-discontinued Vic Walker.

How is the touch of those grips? More grip and resistance than the cellidor? I've seen some on Etsy and I'm liking them

Very surprised they are discontinuing a number of these 84mm SAKs. Such a great size to disappear in a pocket yet big enough to get some work done.

The nice thing about the old slide lock 111MMS is that they are so much lighter then the liner lock 111MMS.

The canvas micarta scales are from Taschenmesser on ETSY. They went on relatively easily. The scales snap on, just like cellidor scales, but require a bit more force to install. I used a rubber mallet. They can also be epoxied, if you want to make them more permanent.

I bought the polished version, which has more grip that cellidor, especially when wet. If you want even more grip, the scales can be rough sanded, imparting far more grip, depending on what grit of sandpaper you go with.

I'm a giant fan of aftermarket micarta scales, having used both RGT and Taschenmesser.  Both are great. Absurdly durable, and darken nicely over time with the oils from your hands.

Glad to hear a positive review of them scales. Have a couple little projects in the works.

White on the SC is purdy.

Yeah I like it.  After you buy all of the standard colors, you gotta start branching out.   :salute:

Agree. Instead of discontinuing, they should bring back the 84mm scissors.

I'm quite fond of Micarta, and hope to add much more of it. Thanks for the write-up! :hatsoff:

Very minimal thickness. Didn't really change the overall thickness of the knife at all.

Users: Marlboro PST and Outdoorsman. Both are new to me at good deals but used and in the case of the LM abused. I think I’ll get some good work out of them.
