I used my Pioneer X to actually sharpen a pencil today. Shocking, I know.

So far today we've removed three staples, tightened the back on my chair (a daily occurrence ::)), and peeled an orange for breakfast.

Now the 30 day Classic Challenge is over, I went to the other end of the size profile. My Workchamp is being pocketed today.

I'm back to the same knife that has been wearing holes in my pockets for years.  Vic Trooper.  Just so happens I have to carry it for the February challenge, but I would be carrying it anyway.  I found the original box a couple of months ago.  Cost me $9.95 new according to the sticker on the box.
That's a good looking Classic badge you have there, Jeff.  Not too many of those around.  Liking that 111mm too.  Best wishes.  Gary

Thanks Gary.  Your Classic badge looks pretty good, too.  I really enjoyed the daily thinking of a topic, creating a brief story, and grabbing a photo;, not necessarily in that order.  IIRC, we have already discussed SAK-aholic issues.  Good luck with the 100/108 challenge.  I’ll be hanging around some of the other threads.
I did just find a gardener, but it would not be available in time for me to play.  I may have bought a few too many duplicate Huntsmans, so the aholic issue must be put on hold.
Cheers.

I'm daily driving a Super Tinker but I'm not liking how that key ring loop gets in the way of reaching for the parcel hook.  Need to do something about that.

Also, congrats on the badge gents!

I’ve got the solution to your problem in my pocket today - the Deluxe Tinker!

Not only is the hook a full layer away from the key ring, but you also get a small but powerful set of pliers!

Nice, Marlowe.  Make him want another SAK.  I'm pretty sure there are no rules against just grinding the annoying thing off.  That's what I did years ago with this one.  Dad refused to carry it with a keyring.  I took off the keyring.  Then he complained about the keyring nub.  Dremel.
If you go the grinder route, I would suggest taping around the offending nub with some masking tape.  It keeps the grindy stuff out of the crevices and makes cleanup a snap.  That is a nice Tinker there, Marlowe.  Almost sounds like you want rid of it.  I could send you my mailing address.  We could work something out.  Best wishes.  G

I don't want to get rid of it - it's frequently in my pocket these days, despite not getting as much use out of the pliers as I would like. I guess I view the pliers as a tool that I don't need every day but, when I need them, I really NEED them and not much else will do.

I hadn't considered the Deluxe Tinker.  Hmm.....

Fair warning - it's a good bit heavier in the pocket than the Super Tinker. The pliers layer adds a fair bit of size and weight. There was definitely an acclimation period for me when I started carrying it more regularly.

Now, if it's primarily the Phillips that you're after (and you don't care about the pliers), then it's the Explorer you want. It also gets the hook away from the key ring/nub. And of course it resolves the eternal corkscrew vs Phillips dilemma pretty neatly.

You're doing it again, Marlowe!  Now he wants TWO more knives.  This man has a wife and kids and inlaws and...and...and....a LAGOMORPH to feed.  Stop it.  Just stop it.  Best wishes?  G

Wife and I have had the crud for the last two weeks.  Finally felt good enough to go out on a short 50 mile road trip and ferry ride.  Because we were “traveling”, this SAK became the object of today’s lust.  Another 111mm unit.

Been a long time since I posted in here.  I have a couple custom SAKs, but had stopped carrying them for quite a while.  Recently started in again as they shouldn’t be neglected.  This one is my MechaRogue.

Today is a “less weight in the pocket” day.  The Rescue Tool goes back into the bug out bag.  This Camper with plus scales, pin, pen, dyneema lanyard, turtle gear firefly and tinder, and a piece of shrink tube to protect the tinder goes in the pocket today while doing yardwork, but not actually camping.
