Bad deal with Blomberg
on: January 31, 2013, 02:28:20 AM
Had a bad deal with Blomberg, agreed on a price, paid instantly with PayPal. He emailed me a few days later to see if I got it. I know he never shipped it so don't know why he was asking if I had received it. Any way he is refunding thru PayPal, however won't have access to the money for 14-20 days. He got his money right away, me not so much.

Yeah, seems odd to ask if you got it.

Anyone object to me adding "with Blomberg" to the thread title?

Makes it crystal clear for others to avoid.

Sorry to hear you got ripped off. Hate to see smurfholes come here and ruin it for others. Makes it tough for legitimate folks to get trust when some Neanderthal does this to legitimate members.

Update on my refund, it failed also.  Filed an complaint with PayPal for all the good it will do.

FYI He used the email: kochdavd1952@hotmail.com   on my transaction.

That's right.  I mistyped the email address.  Same as mine.  I'm going to have a look around the FBI website for reporting internet crime

They are also from somewhere outside the US. When I first made my order. I ordered one box. He thought I meant 50 not 500. Claimed he was out. I even confronted him about a scam. Of course he said no. He said his partner had a brick. Shifted me to him. This also is thru paypal. Sent me a scan of partners paypal account. I noticed the money anount was in euros. Thats when I confronted Koch about a scam. I contested the charge on paypal. Got an email from paypal the it had been shifted to a claim. I will probably end up like you. Sure was a perfect time to run a scam on ammo. With all the mania going on over ammo and firearms.
Thought back to what my father said " if a good deal seems too good there probably is something wrong."

I've filed a complaint with the FBI.  There are at least 3 victims to this current scam.  Not sure it'll help if they're outside the US.  But there you have it.

You can file a separate complaint too.  Feel free to include me as a victim.

That's really lame.  This only hurts overall as it makes us not trust new members or want to buy from them until they've been around for awhile.

I dont know how the scam works, but I once bought electronics from someone (100 value or so) thru paypal and found out later they were a scammer.  I filed a PP claim and got my money back after about a month.  This built confidence in the PP system at least so I hope that safety net hasn't been bypassed as Ive felt I could trust the PP claim system.

Mr. Enki, maybe you could also add "David Koch" on the topic title to prevent, from happenning again! :twak:

They wasn't very imaginative on their name & username. Suggest polling the IP addresses and contacting their ISP in the tracing of the scammer. I just did a simple Google search on the given name - which I would say threw up a red flag on the first page.

If you look closer you'll notice both of those threads were started by wildcatmo, same as this one here. Wildcatmo is just spreading the word out. I'll leave all the other thread and case tasks to Mr. Whippy as he's directly involved in this issue. :salute:
