LM Style XS
on: January 31, 2013, 01:18:08 PM
Any of the expert modder can give me an opinion on the feasibility of this project?  :sak:

A better option is to use Gerber pacjage opener from Dime in order to be TSA friendly...
and anyway the package opener is one of the tools I use more from my group-buy Dime...

I loved the carabiner/bottle opener in the Styles I had, I can keep it in my keyring and be ready for use in one snap.

I don't think you can do it, there is only one slot for tools. You MAY be able to use the back springs for the pliers, but they maybe TOO strong to flip out any of the scissors.

I was about to take my Style apart today.

Why don't you look into a Style (Keychain version) and add a nice carabiner with it? Or even a single sided Squirt with the bottle opener and a nice mini carabiner?

ok, I just tried to put any of the tools (short or long into the back spring chamber of the pliers/scissors.

While the FIT, you would need finger nails of STEEL to get them out, just as I suspected, the backspring is WAY to tough to work!

Would it work then if you weakened the spring, or made the pivot cam smaller so that the spring was actuated less?

Metro, you are right, a normal style with a mini s-biner will do the job, the easy way...

Or make nail nicks closer towards the tips of the tools?  Saw someone that swapped the blade on the Style CS with one from a Squirt I think because the nail nick was closer to the end of the blade.

The blade on my Style CS was really tough to deploy but I loosened up the pivot a little and that helped a little.

This maybe off topic, but I just ordered 4 Style CS's so I'll be tackling some kind of "Ultimate" Style...I may learn a thing or two about in the process.
