Italian knock off?
on: March 08, 2013, 04:18:33 PM
Or is it a notch up?  ::)

Would this be a good alternative for EDC compaired to a (S007) Alox Soldier?

Are there no nonsense fieldtests to check out, somewhere on the internet?

Hello Wootz. I think the Extrema Ratio are Extremely overpriced. And the marlin spike does not lock!

The awl should have been a reamer and should have been inline and I'd be all over it.

Regarding price: €130 is a lot but doesn't sound too outrageous or extreme.

Is Extrema Ratio made in Italy, or elsewhere?

Yes they are made in Italy, not far from where i live. But beware of chinese copies, they tend to close on your fingers or open in your pocket!

The combo can/bottle opener is an interesting design, but at 130euro I'm not sure this belongs in the Cheap and Cheerful forum. :D

The tang on the combo tool is too narrow for any prying.

I agree on both points - using the bottle opener as the "nail nick" is inspired  :salute:

Please go ahead and move this.

I've read that the combo tool is a bit hard to open, lip is rather short.

I can move it if you like, but there really is no need.  We are quite relaxed about that sort of thing here. :)

I wouldn't pay that much for that, but the bottle/ can opener is cool. I guess the choice between that combo tool and a vic combo tool is what size screwdriver you want on the end.
