Vic blades vs Wenger blades

I happen to highly prefer the less stubby blade of the Victorinox over that of Wenger (except in the case of the Standard Issue).  I think they're better for overall cutting and for this reason have avoided Wenger SAKs.

Apart from the SI (which I prefer over the Soldier) the only experience I have of a Wenger blade is from a Minigrip I once had. The blade seemed thinner than the Vics. Is this correct?

If so I prefer Vic! There's probably nothing in it really though.........

Regarding knives, swords, and blades in general.

Straight blades are better suited for chopping.

Curved blades are better suited for cutting. (More surface area of the blade is in contact during the cut)
