Blast question
on: February 20, 2013, 03:00:15 AM
How can I tighten my leatherman blast? Do I need a special tool? And also do you think leatherman will retire the blast soon?

And I don't think they have any plans to retire the blast in the near future.

What part of the Blast is loose mate  .

Leatherman uses Loctite on it's fasteners , it would be a good idea to use some thread locker on your Blast's fasteners threads, when you do tighten it up, to stop them becoming loose again. You can use a variety of tools too adjust Leatherman's knurled fasteners BUT it is easy to bugger them up if you are not careful. Pliers , vise grips, all work, some people use a Letherman Crunch. You will need x2 tools to grip both ends of the fastener at the same time.If the fastener is not loose & you want to adjust it , it is a good idea to apply some heat directly too the fastener first too 'crack' the Loctite seal on the threads.

I had wondered if the Blast's days were numbered when LM retired the Kick & Fuse  has not happened yet though.
