Knifeless or No Knife EDC Multi-Tools

Hey,

I just want to post a review about Knifeless EDC multi-tool solutions.  I made this video review about EDC solutions for situations where no knives are allowed, or "weapons" are not allowed:
 
EDC for Travel and International Laws, for schools, college, University, K-12  (High Schools, Junior High), Kids, Children;  or for Concerts and Theme Parks;  for legal reasons (Felony/Felons);  or for jobs (Court, County, and Teacher)

Hi ank218. Welcome to the boards! I hope you'll take a minute to drop into the New Member Forum and say hello.

Thanks for the video, both making and posting.

I got a leatherman Style PS some months back because I knew I was taking a plane trip. It was scrutinized but not seized in both airport security locations I passed through. The little scissors worked surprisingly well and were an adequate replacement for a small blade in box opening and similar tasks.

I also did a recent (very simple) mod to a Leatherman Wingman to replace the blade with a file, to pass on the a 10 year old boy. Here's a link to that thread...

There was also another member, barryj323, who made what seems to be a U.K. legal mod combining Sidekick and Wingman parts. here's the thread on that...

Finally, I would also point out the Victorinox 'Jetsetter' line, 58mm bladeless multitools.

I'm sure there are a number of other mods and production tools discussed on the forum here, but these are just the things that spring immediately to mind.

Welcome to the forum, and nice vid mate 

I'm in England, so I can fall under the locking blade restriction (unless I have good reason for carrying one). There are many locking tools I carry such as the Victorinox Spirit, Gerber MP700 etc etc etc ... but I do like a good knifeless tool too.

One of the reasons I like knifeless tools so much is NOT due to legal restrictions. I don't find multitool blades particularly ergonomic, and prefer to carry a dedicated folder - either a traditional pocket knife or something like a Byrd Tern. This means I have a free slot in my multitool for another tool  Another couple of smaller knifeless tools I like are the IDL T5 and T7 - very similar principle to the Swisstech you hyave, but I prefer the pliers on the IDLs 

A few people here have actually modified their tools to knifeless too. A few of us Brits have modded Gerber MP400s, and several people have done similar with SOG multitools too

Once I'd got all the parts in, not that long at all. I went round to Farmmans for a couple of hours. Borrowed his Dremel to tweak a couple of Kick clips for spanners, a few cups of coffee and a general natter ... oh, and I borrowed his Crunch for the plier pivots
