How to get dents out of a knife blade?
on: April 02, 2008, 12:27:11 AM
How do you get dents out of a knife blade? I was using my SURGE serrated blade as a prybar to take windshield wipers off and I dented the straight edge part of the serrated knife.. Any suggestions?

BTW, I don't know why I used the serrated blade!

I'd grind it down if it's significant.  Trying to bend a knife blade will almost always result in breakage.

Leave the dents as they are- let your belongings show their scars as proudly as you do yours.

It depends on what you mean by dent:
If as you look head on (apply directly to your forehead) at the edge of the blade and there is a little "squiggly" then you might be able to bend it back by using some pliers. You will however run the risk of fatigueing the metal and having that little piece chip off in the futire, creating another wonderful little serration.
If however it's just a little divot in the edge then all you have to do is grind it out.

Either way I would suggest a little time with a sharpener, that's likely your best option.
