forum thought I was a spammer?

When I was signing up to the forum, I originally tried using the name "Cupboard" because that's the name I always use. Every time I did so, the forum claimed I was a spammer and told me to contact an admin.

Eventually I managed to sign up with this username so all is not lost but I do have a couple of questions.

1) why?
2) is it possible to get my username changed to Cupboard?
