MINI CHAMP EDC

Hey guys,

Do you find the mini champ suitable as a edc, or more of a key chain tool ?

I'd like a mini champ, but the orange peeler and cuticle pusher is a turn off to me. It's like they should offer a mini champ minus.
Don't get too serious, just enough will do.

It's too heavy for a keychain tool, per my preferences. But plenty of people disagree.

I EDC my Mini-Champ from time to time, usually on urban carry days at the office where I figure the odds of needing to skin a bear or chop down a mighty oak are minimal. Honestly, the Mini-Champ or the Executive are what I carry when I figure the biggest needs I'll have are peeling some fruit or taking care of my fingernails.

Oh, and the "orange peeler" makes a fantastic clamsheel pack opener. I like the "orange peeler." It's great for packaging, cutting strings and .... erm .... peeling oranges.

I like the mini champ, but I agree a mini champ minus would be best overall.  I would remove 2 tools, and I think it would be the cuticle pusher and 'emergency' blade, or wharncliffe, or whatever its called.

I like it...it makes me think of cake frosting...I'm not sure whether to eat it or carry it  :P. Seriously though, nice work on that.

For me, I'm thinking that if I did EDC a 58mm, it would probably have to be the Rambler or something similar, maybe a Midnite Manager. I might have to hit up Syph for one of those alox T&T holders if I do another 58mm.

I feel both those tools are surplus to requirements, and the tool would be better off without them  :)

I agree with the losing tools concept too :tu:

I am however carrying the Wenger Pocket Tool Chest at the moment instead and find the tool selection in it more useful over all :)

I EDC it, usually on my keychain, now that I am abroad without my car on my small jeans pocket.
It is so small that a couple of blades more or less aren't destructive. The peeler is very handy as mentioned, the Warncliffe is the sharpest blade I ever met in my life and the pusher is used as a gentle scraper. There are other models in the line between the Classic and the Minichamp if you prefer.
