That's what I've got... a Flair with a very floppy corkscrew!  It doesn't hold in any position at all.

I'm guessing this is not a normal thing, but then I have never owned one before  ???

So, what to do... any chance they would be able to replace/repair it at Leatherman? Or am I stuck trying to tap the rivet or something?!

Yes, floppy tools are a problem. :D

I can't help you though, first time I hear about that multitool. Looks cool :tu: Where did you find it?

I've actually seen this problem on a Flair before.  There is a small "backspring" inside the handle that holds the corkscrew in the open position; my guess is that it's bent or broken on your Flair.  :(

I can try to get some pics when I get home to show you what I'm talking about if this isn't clear...

as far as warranty service goes, I have no idea if Leatherman would still have the right parts on hand for a repair job.  my guess is that you'd get a replacement... probably a Rebar if I had to guess.  :-\

I am very surprised that a corkscrew is floppy in your presence Chrissy, I mean your singing gets....oh nevermind.  I really enjoyed "Hallelujah".

I agree with Breezy that it is most likely the backspring.  I have changed a couple of Flair backsprings and it you have the wrenches it is not that hard.  Getting the backspring is another story.  I would NOT send the tool in to get fixed since they will likely send you something lesser than a Flair.

Maybe you can splint it? Or maybe something can be utilized from a wine tool??
