That is a good lineup. Is Udo still singing with Accept? I remember going to see them at Hammersmith Odeon in '86 on the Russian Roulette tour - the guitarists and bassist goose stepping across the stage dressed as Russian soldiers. Ah those were the days.......

Shame - such a big voice for such a tiny man. Do they still play London Leather Boys, Balls to the Wall and Fast as a Shark?

London leather Boys use to have us in fits! Was it an ironic song?

To replicate listening to beiber 'song', dress in schoolgirl clothes and eat marshmallows until you throw up all down your lovely school dress.

That's what someone told me anyway..........

Shame - such a big voice for such a tiny man. Do they still play London Leather Boys, Balls to the Wall and Fast as a Shark?

London leather Boys use to have us in fits! Was it an ironic song?

I have seen them 2007 in Wacken - or was it 2005?
Doesn´t matter - He played those. It was a fun Gig and i enjoyed it very much, although i must admit i did understand the Announcements that Biff from Saxon made way better than what Udo said - and keep in mind, Udo and i are both German...

It was a fun night and the Belgians in front of us had such a funny accent wither when singing english with us made it even more fun!

And yes, i did get off topic on purpose.

I wouldn´t mind Justin Bieber to stay in the Charts for the next decades, bu i just don´t care. And i concur with all that has been said about Ozzy here. Sadly, many musicians seem not to know when to retire. I´m thinking about Axl Rose here or the Stones, Aerosmith are only a shadow of wht tehy used to be, too.

A Band that really surprised me was Motley Crue. I thought they would have been obsolete in the mid 90s at latest, but last year or 2011 i saw them  on a triple gig with Backyard Babies and Duff McKagan´s Loaded - And they really rocked. I was prepared to see Ex-Junkies barely remebering where they were, not knowing the words to the songs, but they really seemed to have fun doing what they did - And so were we.

Whether people like him or not, Justin is laughing all the way to the bank.. Since I'm way out of the target group, I won't be judging if his music is good taste or not.. Half of my daughters class seems to like him, so that's all good imo..
Comparing a Pop teen idol to The Blizzard on the other hand..

Justin Beiber is pretty immaterial to me.  Just like Meneudo, N'Sync, Backstreet Boys and teh New Kids On The Block were.

In defense of Ozzy, the man has survived so long by being very distinctive, and, unlike many ego trips in modern music, he has always been about finding great musicians to play with him rather than making the show all about him... like Axl Rose for example.

Look at the early days- Tony Iommi may not have been an overly skilled guitar player, but his loud, distinctive sound and (relatively) simple riffs made sure that every kid with a guitar was playing Sabbath tunes in the garage.

Then in the shred era, Randy Rhoads, arguably one of the most skilled guitar players who ever lived continued to keep Ozzy in the spotlight and proved to the world that the Ozzman was still a force to be reckoned with, even without the rest of Sabbath to hold him up.

Then when Randy Rhoads died (again, most musicians die in a plane crash or from substance abuse- Rhoads got drunk and drove a plane along the tarmac into a fuel truck, managing to die both ways musicians are supposed to die!) rather than get a faceless replacement guitar player to merely play Rhoads' and Iommi's old bits Ozzy picked out Zakk Wylde, another very distinctive musician capable of being a superstar on his own.

All in all Ozzy may not be a great singer, but he is an exceptional showman, and, (whether it's Ozzy or Sharon I can't say) an exceptional business.  You'd never see a show about the real current lives of MC Hammer or Bono despite the fact that Bono seems to always want the spotlight.  I guess he really is Number Two...

At any rate, I don't think Ozzy is nearly as dumb or useless as I think he's made out to be.  Much of it can be attributed to Sharon but I bet you dollars to doughnuts he's not the mindless puppet he's made out to be.

I agree Def, I think the guy knows what's what :tu:

She was and still is his business manager and she knows what's bankable too - pretty clever team :tu:

As for poor old Randy... something musicians are bad at is staying alive, especially when they indulge in the lethal combination of transport and substances ::)

That just proves he was twice as good as any other musician...

Don't judge me, but I think Taylor Swift isn't too bad. There seems to be some sort of musical-ness there unlike certain other performers that are popular with the teenagers.
