EDC your multitool adapter
on: April 11, 2008, 03:58:15 PM
Do you always carry your adapter alongside your multitool? If you do, which is your favorite MT adapter? Or do you just leave it behind as it might only add extra load (because some carry theirs together with their celfone on their belt)?

I always carry an adapter with me. At the moment I like to EDC the Gerber MT adapter.

I'm a pocket/clip guy so I hardly ever have bits or an adapter with me.  Unless I know of something I might need them for then I'll grab a sheath with my bits.

I also only carry them when I know I'll need 'em. I have two sizes of phillips and flathead on my charge, and that gets me through the day pretty well.

however I do like the bit kit and the leatherman adapter a lot. the bit kit has the most choices and the adaptor can be used at three angles for better torque. the swiss ratchet is so nice with the ratcheting action. I do own a kit for my gerber, bear jaws, schrade / craftsman, and schrade / visegrip.

Multitool implements are great to used especially the screwdrivers. But what would you feel if during use the tip of your  MT screwdriver chips off? I think adapters, besides having great looks, also avoid damaging our tools. Bits are easy to find, we can change them anytime.

I keep meaning to pick one of those up.  Problem is, it is just something else to carry and I don't think I would bother.
I'm back!!

Leathermans newer adapter is smaller than the older one. I think that they may have done this so more ppl will carry it. The older design is more complex but as most ppl do, they won't carry it because of the extra weight. They were smart in minimizing there adapter.  :D

With the LM Skeletool in my pocket and a Wave in my waistpack, I definately keep the adapter bits with the waistpack :multi:
