On a Cold Steel Kick

Following the meet with Mike (micky d), I have had a real craving to get hold of some more Cold Steel knives. At the meet I got to play with his SRK which was very nice and very different from anything I had, so ever since I have been looking through Cold Steels products and have managed to get hold of a few of them.

My first one arrived today - a 3" Tanto Voyager , kindly sent to me by Mike in exchange for some driving favours later in the year.

As I had already handled it before, I already had a good idea of what I was expecting, but after playing with it again, it opens even more smoothly than I remembered. This is my first tacticool

knife and it does open surprisingly fast. I will take some pics later.

In addition to this, I also have a Master Hunter with an Aus8 blade, and a Bushman on the way from Marc at edcdepot.com. Hopefully both will be here in the next week or so, so I will be sure to report back on how I get on.

You are going to love the Bushman- it's a great, inexpensive, hard working knife that you don't have to worry about losing or maintaining too much.

You're right about it being inexpensive. Marc has them up for $17.99 and with his 10% off this month it's damn cheap.

Don't let the price tag fool you- it's an awful lot of knife for the money! You'll be able to keep that CS Canadian Belt Knife in the handle of the Bushman!

The only thing that sucks about Cold Steel is that they are only backed by a one year warranty...

Well I've got an SRK, and a Trailmaster that must be at least 12 - 15 years old, and the voyager's probably 8-9 and they've held up beautifully

The voyager certainly feels ok. Lock up is real tight and as I already said, opens really smoothly. I think that the 1 year warranty only applies to folders. Fixed blades have a 5 year I believe.

I think they only put the small warrenty on it, because people were destroying there knives with stupid abuse, by imitating the stuff on the 'Proof' DVD's
