Who EDCs two plier tools?
on: April 19, 2008, 02:40:35 PM
Just wondering if anyone here regularly carries TWO plier based tools on them...minus the Squirt on your keychain :D

I've been EDCing my BO Spirit lately but it's not really for heavy jobs that might come up (but great for smaller jobs that bigger tools might be awkward with).  Anyways, As I was getting ready yesterday I slid my Crunch sheath on my belt then the Spirit and carried both!  Both sheaths (I have the Leather sheath for the Crunch and leather sheath for the Spirit) are almost identicaly in size and the way they sit on the belt, so it wasn't uncomfortable at all.

And I left my Mckinley SAK at home since I carried it to have a second set of drivers (which I now had on my Crunch), so I had one less thing in my pocket :D

I don't carry 2 plier based multitools, but when I carry my Swisstool (which is all the time now) I do like to have a smaller set of pliers with me just incase I need to do any smaller jobs.  I either carry a Clutch or a SAK with some pliers on which currently is my Swisschamp.  I feel these combinations pretty much covers me for everything although I am looking to add a Guppie at some point.
I'm back!!

I would love that, carrying two plier based MTs, but there's no room anymore on my belt: having a celfone and small lookalike surefire on my left waist and a PDA and a blast on my right,  . I don't carry a clutchbag. I'm thinking of carrying a small beltbag where I can put 2 MTs with bit adapters inside. whewww! a real nut!

No, but I have thought about it. A SURGE and a Crunch would be a great pair indeed!

The Crunch can't be topped in terms of plier opening width and power.  It folds down really small to.

I carry my old Wave on my belt and my Bear Jaws in my phone bag. I like the Bear Jaws for any heavy stuff (it's the largest multitool that will fit in my phone bag). The Wave is always on me, though.

As for the ability to carry a lot of stuff on you, I find these helpful.

They velcro around your ankles and can carry lots of useful stuff out-of-sight.
I keep the bits for my Leatherman Charge in the back pocket on my right ankle.

As for carrying multiple tools, I usually have a Charge and a Sebertool on me.

Not all the time but i have been know to, a Crunch makes a nice compliment to any other tool. I also find myself carrying some sort of Gerber MP600 with me in combination with another tool just cos i like the pliers so darn much!
