Yet another Skeletool question...
on: April 19, 2008, 07:25:31 PM
Has anyone heard any rumors of Leatherman offering the Skeletool in any other finishes/colors?  Like B.O. or Camo?

I haven't heard anything either. Seems like they are barely keeping up with demand as it is. Then they have to start cranking out Freestyles too at some point.

Y'know, Freestyle? The economy version of the Skeletool that was supposed to come out in May but has been postponed until later this fall because of unexpected Skeletool demand? No bits, no bit holder, zytel handle spacer?

We got a sneak peek at one at the Shot Show HERE.

Thanks for the link!  Love the freestyle design.  Screwdriver bit is a good concept :multi:

Well actually the screwdriver is my biggest concern on the Freestyle. I've never been real thrilled with the flat-blade-Phillips concept.  :-\

The design theory is sound. But will it work??

Me too... I'm not a big fan of flat-phillips, and I'm not sure how well a flat-phillips will work on normal slotted screws either. Seems like a very limited design IMO, but I guess I'll hold of judgement till I hear some hands on opinions.

Freestyle reminds me of twoface from batman.  :P

I don't know about that, the CX is already half blacked out, offer a BO version would mess up skeletool's "trim level"

My gut! LM has BO coating for almost all of their tools. Also, I think a BO Skeletool would appeal to the "tacical" folder guys even more so!
