Wenger steel holding an edge better than Victorinox steel?

I have my first Wenger (Ranger 78) coming in the mail now,  and I am wondering how well the Wengers hold a good cutting edge.   My Leathermans hold a decent edge,  but all my Victorinox tools need a lot of upkeep to keep them sharp.   It's basically a necessity to carry a dedicated blade with my EDC multi-tools (Spirit).   The Victorinox steel gets dull fast and has a tendency to chip if pushed hard.  I could carry a Leatherman,  but I prefer the SwissTools models and their locking mechanism.  I am hoping the Wenger steel holds up a little more because I also ordered one for my dad,  and I doubt he will put much effort into keeping the blade in good condition.

That sounds likely.   I found one test where they cut old carpet with a Victorinox and a Wenger and they performed the same.
Thanks
