Which do you guys prefer- bypass or anvil wire cutters?

I like anvil because they can't get stuck while cutting stranded wire etc...

Anvil, they are more robust, and you can use them to cut thin gauge sheet metal.

In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

The Gerber Freehand. I have a question- would the 800 Legend be considered bypass or anvil?

I'd say bypass, on account of how the carbide inserts pass by one another.

I prefer anvil, because the performance of them doesn't suffer as much as the bypass design as the tool's pivot wears and loosens.
