Could this last month and a half get any worse??

  • It is what it isn't.
This is the worst month for me financially by way of getting hit with unexpected bills/costs.  It started with my some uncovered medical bills, then about $1800 worth of repairs on the truck and now almost $700 repairs on the other vehicle.

I am seriously thinking about selling everything I own and that way I wont get any "unexpected" bills showing up! I am so pissed off that one month like this can really drain me as well as put some financial weight on my shoulders that I dont need at this time.

I think I am going to sell all my stuff and get so basic it would make one sick!  I mean everything like computers, laptop, Kindle Fire HD, more sak's and mt's, household stuff not used, you name it if I have it it is going.  I literally have thousands to make up and have never had it like this before!

Sorry about ranting but just needed to vent alittle I guess! :)

I am sure that others have had a "worst month ever" so I am sure I am not alone!

I hope everything turns out fine for you money wise. Remember to keep a few saks for when things are better. Best wishes!

Very sorry about your rough month.  :(  You have my sincere sympathy, but I hope your situation improves quickly.

and no need to apologize for venting/ranting... I'm sure most of us are guilty of that from time to time.  :)

I've been in situation like that too, yeah it does feel hopeless and makes you think that you need to sell everything you have. But just hold on tight, you'll get through it gradually.

I definitely know the feeling of feeling like you can never get ahead.  Just when it feels like you come out a bit ahead, something will pop up to claim that money for you.  House repairs, car repairs.. messed up taxes and owe the goverment  back $1200...    (that was an annoying one).    My wife landing a decent job and having dual incomes is the only way we stay afloat.  Its not like the 60s when the man could work and support a family of 6 no problem.  I dont know how my son will afford a house or I will afford his university!

Hope things work out, and I know the feeling of wanting to minimize the 'stuff' in our lives.  Most of it isnt needed thats for sure.

That's how I lost a great deal of my collection is having to sell it to pay bills.  It's the American way of the haves and the have-nots.

I have two that I will keep for sure as they were gifts from members here.  Jerseydevil and lowtech each sent me a gift of a sak and those two will be the only saks that I plan on keeping at this time.  Assuming, I can find buyers for the others! :)

Thanks all for the kind words and I know it will get better but the next couple of months trying to get these debts gone will be the hardest part plus keeping afloat on the current/everyday stuff.  Hopefully nothing else happens anytime soon!

I feel your pain Sir. I was in a similar situation a few months back but luckily I got through it. I had some random people I didn't know on another forum help me with what little they could. I'd like the opportunity to pay it forward, so please send me a PM so I can pass on whatever I can.

Thank you!

Sorry to hear of your financial difficulties.  I too have been through these issues, with vehicles in particular as it seems every year there is something or another needing repair on both our vehicles. We also now have a decent sized hospital bill from my wife and I spending 4 days in the OB for the birth of our daughter a couple months back, as well as the various smaller accumulated bills from many appointments she had due to gestational diabetes.  If I was smart, I would have sold several items from my collection of stuff, but I never have   I pray things improve for you.

I too had a similar tax mishap several years back where I ended up owing around $2000 through a dumb mistake on my part with my exemptions.  We also ended up owing around $200 this year through another dumb mistake.  Stinking taxes   It is sad that in this day and age it is simply not possible to get by with only the man's income, unless of course he makes plenty, but that's not the case for me.  I would love for my wife to be able to be a stay at home mom, and she wishes she could as well.  Things would be so much easier that way if it were financially feasible.

This really sucks to hear about Mike. I wish I could help at all and I will if possible. I really hope you'll be able to see a light at the end of this tunnel.

Thanks all.

I am sure it will get better and I guess this will give me a chance to down size everything.  I am sure I have too much stuff anyway, just ask the wife! LOL

Hang in there, after all it's just "stuff" anyway.

You can bounce back from this, trust me.  :tu:  I've been up and down most of my life (I'm 48) and it seems that our lives are like the stock market. The best way to handle things is to not get too high or low in life and prepare for the times when like kicks you a little bit.

Selling off unneeded items isn't such a bad thing as you might find your love for the things that you keep to have more use in your life.

Best of luck to you!   :salute:
