Fake Swiss Army knife report list
on: June 26, 2013, 08:12:24 PM
We all know the chinese have produced millions of fake knives some with shields that look near genuine but the knife itself is a P-O-S. The sale and promotion of these fakes hurt the genuine Swiss Army knife business in several ways. Lets use our Forum power and report as many of these fakes to get them removed from eBay and any other reputable web site. Perhaps with our combined efforts it will make some difference.

Here is my first link for you guys to report. Now this listing does not have words that say Victorinox but it does have a photo that clearly shows the shield logo and name Victorinox, so it is trying to promote the knife as genuine. BTW, if you did not know there is a "Report" button on every eBay auction web page. Right side about half way down just before the auction description.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPER-28-Multifunctional-Stainless-Steel-91mm-Swiss-Knife-Tool-/151071496059?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item232c90177b

Here is what the reporting page looks like and what choices you should choose for fake item reports. Please add any fake auctions or sales you find here and lets stamp out these phoneys.

Bookmark this page and list any you find. Hopefully it will cut down on the fake sales.  :salute: I just read thru some of the feedback for the eBay auction I reported above and it amazes me how many folks are either happy with the product or oblivious to its failings.  I sure hope no one is injured trying to use those things. :-[ I know my wife would not have known how to judge a good knife or tool (except she has me to show her) before and could be hurt or at the very least "conned" out of some hard earned money for something that barely does the job of a paper weight.

Good idea :tu:

Does anyone know if the Vic knifes that are listed on the DX website are real or fake?

I believe we have discussed them before and some are genuine and some are not, like the Swiss Cards with the chinese opera mask.

Another one gets the Fake nod. Anyone notice the new  eBay notes that say how many views or watchers per hour? This one showed 7 views per hour when I clicked it. Way to go guys!  :salute:

This is a great idea.  I vote this should become a sticky.
I already report listings that I see where they are claiming that a fake is genuine Victorinox.

I'm not so worried by ones where they clearly state something like "Swiss army type knife, not Victorinox."

But if the wording is like "Imitation Victorinox Swiss Army knife." if contravenes eBay's listing policy because it is admitting the item is counterfeit. Those ones get reported.

Titled "vintage camper swiss army knife"
While it is merely an old hobo tool and has a different logo on the side

I don't think this one qualifies as a fake. The knife does have "Camper" stamped on the scale and if you read the description the seller says "Stamped Imperial Ireland".

I just looked at the title  I guess I'll read the description first next time

Every time I see a fake SAK or Leatherman, I do an EBAY report.

Great!  :salute: :salute: That is the purpose of this thread. The more folks who report them to eBay the better chance there is of them taking the auction down.

Reporting these knives to ebay doesn't seem to get them taken down.  >:(

Ebay does not give a rats.
