I hate having to write this, but fordmechanic (Brandon Howser) is a thief and a liar. DO NOT deal with him.

Last week he and I entered into a bargain. His package was confirmed delivered by USPS on Friday the 12th. He has not sent me a tracking number. He has not communicated with me in anyway. He will not answer anything from me. Anyone can check a profile page to see when a memeber was last online. He has been on this forum, so I know that he is not so busy as to be unable to respond to my pm/email. This can only lead to my sad conclusion that he is a lying, cheating thief.

If my package suddenly appears, then I will let everyone know. If my communications were somehow disrupted from getting to him, then I will sincerely apologize to him. I am not holding my breath.

I hope this was just some sort of mix up.  Hopefully he'll post here with a good news update.

Thanks, but I don't really think anything can be done. First time in eight years that I have been  a part of different forums that I have been ripped off. Really sucks that it had to be this one.

I have not received the PST from him that I sent payment for back in July.  I have tried to contact him numerous times and have had no reply.  All I wanted to know was if there was a tracking number as I was willing to accept that something could have got lost.  But no  reply to any e-mail both through the forum and to his personal e-mail address.

Are you over 45 days? If not you can still lodge a complaint with PayPal and get your money back.

This is excellent advice.  Paypal takes time to work it through but they do follow through on their protection, you just have to be persistent.

that's too bad this stuff happens.  I don't know if its my place to say this in the open but ford still has items listed for sale shouldn't they be removed until a resolution is reached?? sorry if I should have pm'd the mods.. please remove this if I am out of line.

Good suggestion about contacting Paypal but unfortunately I obviously didn't click "payment for goods or services" so they can't act on anything. Doh.  Well i guess i have to learn from that and be more careful.  Have been trying to find a PST for a while and they are hard to come by in the UK.

Always feel free to voice your opinions here. This isn't one of those forums where everyone had to agree or be ostracized.  You are perhaps a little too new to be familiar with my typical response, so here it is:

A forum is a living thing and it needs to grow in whichever way it likes, or its growth will be stunted. Everyone needs to be able to have a say or it's not a forum, it's an "againstum."

Horrible word I know, but it illustrates my point.

As for the current for sale thread, we usually take a non- interference standpoint for trades, in order to protect the forum from legal action.

However, I think in this case it's perhaps best if we close his sale thread.  If he wants it reopened he'll have to send a PM to a moderator.

makes complete sense and I forget the "legal" side of life sometimes.  I am starting to get a feel for how this place works and I love it even more.  as with all things and especially the purchasing of goods its best to have due diligence as best we can.

Oh man, sorry to hear this NAB.  What a sucky thing to have happen, and a such a lame thing for someone to take advantage of the respectful and friendly atmosphere here >:(.  I hope this was a mix-up, but based on the fact that it's happened to a couple people here, it doesn't look to be the case.

I am very sorry to hear this, and I too hope this gets worked out one way or another.

I agree with others, this is too good of a place to have this happen, and I wish the best for you.

it is amazing how much of an impact one bad thing can have on a great place.
If I can help, let me know
