Ok as per the gorgeous bowie thread, here's your chance to post a picture of your favourite LOOKING knife and why :)

Here's a few of mine in no particular order :)

Who doesn't like randalls ???, here's a number 1, the original and still the best :)

A bit tactical, but utterly brilliant in the hand, perfect proportions and balance, the Extrema Ratio Shrapnel, should never have sold it ::)

I wanted a Blackjack Mamba since they first came out all those years ago...still do

The only Multitool out there that can truly be called beautiful :), I don't think I need tell you what it is :D

The leather stacked handle, lines and deep blued finish make the Sog Recon Bowie special in my eye's :)

Fast, fighting Kukri, the Sirupate ;)

The simply gorgeous, must have Coldsteel Laredo, in Carbon V

A nice shepple friendly scandi, the Helle Harding, perfect bushcrafter :)

Proper full blown, full fat, fullered Kukri :)

Brkt northstar, if it was a bit bigger, it would've been perfect :-\

Need I say anything :D

A Brusletto Fjord, one of those knives I WILL get at some point, perfect wee knife :)

So thats me done (for now) what about you guy;s ???

Spyderco Khukri. Not released yet but soon, I like the Foliage Green. The overall shape just grabs me.

Benchmade 941 Green. The handle and the blade remind me of something the Zentraedi from Robotech/Macross would carry. Futuristic and cool.

The Jordanian issue army knife. I don't know the name of this one but have seen a few pictures of it online recently. It's an interesting ethnic knife but I doubt I'll ever have the chance to own one.

That's it for now. I haven't really been struck by much in the knife world lately, maybe this thread will get the ol' brain percolating on some new knives.

I'm kinda lucky as a couple of the ones I like I own so here goes...

First up is my micarta Grohmann.  I love the shape and size of this knife and the micarta is really nice and has to be seen to be appreciated.

Next up is my Master Hunter.  This could never be classified as "gorgeous", but I love it's simplicity and the shape and the lines of it.

Something a little different now.  I have lusted after this for a long time now and IMO is a gorgeous SAK.

And Def's Tanto looks pretty superb as well.  :)

I'm back!!

A few more...

Generic Combat Smatchet, but I loved the old Al Mar ones :)

Good ole M3, nowt fancy but got the job done

I've never owned a Kabar, and I'm not sure if I'd use it much, but it is unquestionably an icon :)

By the same token I really should get another one of these before they ban them. Surely there our national knife, well alongside the Skein Dhub anyway :)

Should never, EVER have sold my CR Aviator :'(, exception fit and finish...but need's must at the time :(

A nice new Zlatoust, this company really are making some truly beautiful knives :)

For the most part these are M43's, issued to the Gurhka Regiment's during WW2, are you starting to get the impression I like my Kukri's :D

Well (and this is just my opinion) the trouble with barkie's is that the quality is very variable, the blades are very good, but the scales I've seen have been all different thickness, sometimes on the same knife, and can be quite unfinished, or roughly pinned on :-\

Get a good one and your laughing, but I've seen quite a few wrongens :(, having said that they might be a lot better now :)

Thanks for the tip!

I think I read that it is produced in Germany but have had a hard time finding an actual model name or designation.

I'm not a knife expert so forgive me if this is a stupid question. Can you make a good quality knife using the metal from the leaf spring of a truck, van, etc.? Is the steel strong enought?

Yes you can, with a proper heat threat. Is hard, but is possible.
