  • A happy fart never comes from a miserable ass.
Hi to all modders and experts.

I found this knife on ebay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/AMEFA-Alox-Dutch-Army-Knife-DAK-1974-Victorinox-Style-/290948919733?pt=Collectible_Knives&hash=item43bde831b5
I like the toolset of this and after thinking a while   :D
So here is the question.
Is it possible to build a three layer alox from a current farmer with:
- blade layer
- wood saw layer
- tool layer with inline awl + flat head/bootle opener
I think the blade and saw layer are not the problem but can
the awl and the bottle opner installed opposite at the same
layer?

Thanks and regards!

Markus

Don't you like the blade layer with the awl included?

Beside my SwissChamp I currently EDC an one layer alox mod
with blade + awl. Great slim worker  :tu:
At the moment the above mod is only a question of feasibility.
I think the can opner could not be combined with the awl and
in the single blade layer you could use the straight blade from
an alox Solo

Really, I think it might work, like you said, I just don't see the point so much, if you can have the awl with the blade, you can have the bottle opener AND the can opener, without sacrificing any width.

I would keep the awl, so you are right. I can EDC my Farmer with all tools
and at the same size.
I really like the Farmer but sometimes it is .... so serial  ;)  :D

They wont fit together unmodified.  I did this once though but changing the end of the caplifter.  I bent the tip so that the flat part was on the inside, instead of outside.  Making room for the awl.  Its kind of weird though to do that, but technically possible.

Why a mod?! I bet Vic has a model with just what you want, among their huge selection...
