So one of you want'e to go back to basic's and the other want's something more advanced
Wood never failed me yet for a joint. And hammer forged allways beats drop forged.
better joint between blade and handle shaft, something that could bash thru surfaces, like firemens axes have at the blades tail.better sheaths and NO nonsense design.no hollow handles since they dont ever put in anything well made.it seems.i had this....cheap....maybe it was even branded as smith&wesson camping axe,it had a knif einside handle but it was poor poor poor...
Probably because fancy materials sell better, and few people chop enough wood to know the difference. It's not like the old days when you had to chop firewood constantly (although I am sure a few of you will say that you do!) in order to keep from freezing. Like a rifle, an axe just isn't an every day item like it used to be.Def
noo it aint got no markings,i bought it from one ....festival celebrating middle ages and also viking culture, its made by some blacksmith who i dont remember.granfor´s are great too,i agree.
would u like some separate axe blades ?
well i think i wouldnt be here on forum if i owned everything.but about axe blades...theyre not expensive here, ive bought alot of hand forged vintage axes or blades from flee markets, sand blasted ema bit, sharpened, heated and oiled with really used motor oil to get nice blue/black finish, and they have served me for ages.so if u need one blade, ill send u one if u pay for the s&h .
