What size torx do I need for LM?

What size torx do I need to take apart the new LM Wave and the Style CS?

New wave is, I believe, a safety torx size 8 or 10... Safety means you need the bits with the little hole in the middle

Style is T6, Skeletool/Freestyle T8, New Wave T8 security (with the hole). I think the old Wave uses a 5 star torx.

Pretty sure the new Wave is a T10. The 5 star ones you can occasionally find on ebay, they are pricey and usually come in a set.

They are the same. For sure. The size if the head is different but the torx is the same.

I'm getting forgetful in my old days.   Not that I don't trust you but I just went to check an old wave takedown thread I did when I was still a newbie here.

How many parts does a Wave have?

BTW. do you have any spare BO Wave handles and pivots? I'm thinking of converting a Charge ALX to a Wave ALX.

BO waves are harder to come by with out buying a while tool. No handles or pivots in my bins.

I have to search and know exactly what I want when I build a BO tool

6 and 8 is enough for skeletool, don't think you will need more.

I think I could not contribute much, but let me express my idea nonetheless, even though it might be suited better in the Mod-Corner.

What about a nice table with data like Pivot diameter, used fixture/head style and size of tool needed?

I think this would be a nice cross reference showing what tool might fit where (even if you need to regrind the pivot area) without redrilling or what tools can be drilled to oversize to be fitted somewhere else?

Maybe you could add a column with "interchanges with tool xyz without any modification"
Like for example the MP 400, 600 and Strata/Evo tools do.

Or would a table like this be too much work for too small a benefit?

Yes , those are the t10 six points. The 5 points are WAY more.

Security Torx have a hole in the middle as per Enki and my pic
