Ueli Steck special edition
on: August 22, 2013, 02:06:21 PM
I finally bought one, from before i did only have a quick look at it. Now i can see every detail and it is easy to see, i mean all the work put into them + all the little details. One can see all the changes and design parts put into a new construction.

Ueli Steck`s records, i have no words really  :tu: One thing is for sure if i should be up so high in the Mountains there would be a loud noise Level, not good for avalanche :)

We know that Wenger had further plans with the scales and product..

Very nice! Personally I like how this unusual SAK is built - thickness of the tools (at least the main tool/blade) and scales (not thin, glued on, but thick, solid metal), the way the scales are mounted. The design of the main tool/blade implement is not appealing to me but I imagine it was chosen for function over form for its intended application target.

Would anyone EDC one of these?

I agree, it is a very well made construction. High quality.
Would be interesting to know if anyone EDC one?

I always thought that was one of the oddest looking knife blades I've ever seen, but they sure are well made.  Like the "Lucky Luke" watch as well. 8)

I have one because I planned to swap the blade with a common shape one. But not jet strated the job. Anyway the knife is well made and the well enginered. Linners seems inox, not alu, pininig appear made with different material (bronze?), blade can be opened with gloves on. I mean everithing is thought to be effective in a very hostile ambient. This whay i like it

As is, no.  If there were an option for a better general utility blade rather than the highly specialized one, I might seriously consider it.

I Have the titanium 2 and after watching Ueli's footage and interviews I had to order the Special Edition. Although it will take 3 weeks to get here from Germany, I am certain it will be worth the wait!
