Sheffield SAK Knockoff
on: August 10, 2013, 01:59:11 PM
Here's another piece from that multi set that my MIL gave me a few years ago.  Like the rest it's horrid and barely functional.

Note the crooked 80's style puffy sticker, which I assume is supposed to act like some kind of ergonomic to make this thing more comfortable to use?

I think Les Stroud should use one of these in a survival situation sometime.  He'd be successful, only because he'd try to commit suicide when seeing the only tool he has to use is this, but since it's so useless he'd be unable to actually cut his wrists or throat.   ::)

Now that I think about it, the fact that all of the pieces in this collection have crooked stickers, so maybe it's an artistic statement rather than crappy quality control, or a cross eyed three year old in the assembly department.  Or perhaps it's a plea for help from said cross eyed three year old....

 :ahhh

I hope the folks of the real Sheffield made a lot of money by selling off their name to the lowest bidder...

No selling - just poached!

I actually saw the title of the thread, and my first thought was  "who knocked off who ... ?"  :pok:

And who knocked off you?

If you knocked off them and they knocked off you then who knocked off who?

Sorry, AC/DC moment there... :D

I have one of these, but one of the stickers kept pealing, so I removed them, and cleaned it with rubbing alcohol.

It is exactly the same as another sak knock-off I bought some years back, except for the scales.

It's the lower one in my first post of the 'Swiss Army STYLE knife' review thread.

Yeah, I figured that was the one you had.  I think at one point or another most folks have had one of these.  I was always concerned about taking the stickers off because I didn't want to ruin the ergonomics, plus I figured they were what was holding the knife together.   ::)

So that others may come here, learn from OUR mistakes, and never have to waste their own money.

Obviously. :D

I thought it was because we are collectors and no collection is complete without at least one of everything!  :P

Yeah, I have had a lot of years to come up with excuses.  They say that a man who is good for an excuse is good for little else.  So I became good at excuses...
