Me!

Yes Kirk is definitely to blame :twak:

What has the misbegotten idiot done this time?

Only forgot to take a Blue Tinker out of his backpack before flying home! :megaslap: :megaslap: :megaslap:

Got confiscated at security at Gatwick tis morning, rounding off what had been a traumatic trip that far

Bad Kirk :twak: :twak: :twak:

No, not your fault this time. It's the stupid half wits that think a SAK is a killing machine that could allow you to conquer the world.

Thank you for the vote of sympathy, but I'm narked at myself for not checking my bag properly before I left.

I mean,I am the sort of person to stash a SAK somewhere

Bummer! Know it hurts. :ahhh

If its any consolation, my sister-in-law used to carry a Swiss Champ in her purse, until she lost two of them in short order to the TSA minions. She still keeps one in her desk at work (often easier to dig out the knife than call the janitor), but that was an expensive learning experience.

I keep a SASE in my carry on at all times for just such issues.  It is a padded envelope with more than enough postage fform a Charge/Wave

I swear we should all just boycott airlines until they stop this BS.

Airlines are now the worst method of travel and they wonder why the economy is suffering.

They are SO stupid.  just wait until the next idot puts something in his wrissmurfch or makes an article of clothing out of something that can take the place of a pipe.

BOYCOTT!!!

Sorry to hear of your loss.

It seems they're getting less tolerant (and/or better trained) everywhere.  I was seeing off my mother-in-law last week at the (relatively small) Canberra airport (in Oz) and they noticed a Utili-key in amongst all my house keys, so I had to schlepp 10 minutes back to my car, leave the offending weapon of mass-destruction in the car, and walk all the way back and go through the screening process again.

Mind you, it was very unbusy at the time, I doubt they'd have time to look that carefully at all sets of keys if they had a lot of impatient passengers to deal with at once.

Thats a bummer Kirky. Sorry for that loss. Honest mistake. The fear of WMD metal objects and WMD odd looking key ring bits has made it to my podunck city counsel meetings recently. Allowing only the  seemingly deaf tools on that counsel to fix problems worse.  :salute:

Confiscated as in "stolen for my personal use, this is why I love working at airport security"?! They didn't allow you to take it and mail it to yourself so as not to endager the entire airplane?

Well, at least you might have felt better when you were on board, eating your meal WITH A KNIFE STRONG ENOUGH TO CUT SOMEONE'S JUGULAR, JUST LIKE 100+ PEOPLE, with the knowledge that you were in a secure environment...

   Sorry to hear that.

I always carry all my tools on myself when travelling, and I got into the habbit of padding myself down before checking in the lugguages, so far this method works well to prevent lost tools.  I sincerely look forward to those good o' days when I was able to fly with my LM PST everywhere.

Oh that sucks man.  I would be so bummed if I lost one like that.  It makes me thankful though that I don't fly, like ever.  I haven't been on a plane since 2004 I think it was, which was only the 2nd time in my life.  I would hate having to travel like that with nothing on me until I was at my destination.
