Bahco Laplander
on: September 18, 2013, 10:13:06 AM
This came in the post a few days ago:

Unfortunately it was too late for this party:

We had gale force winds which knocked our power lines down, leaving us powerless for a week ending yesterday. Seemed like a good opportunity to cut down all the trees growing in and around the lines near the house without getting electrocuted. (Mostly done with chainsaws and a Bahco handsaw)

Nice purchase. It will be interesting to see what you think of it as not all have been very impressed

I think the battle is usually between the Laplander and Silky saws. I have only ever used the Laplander and have been more than happy with it, so haven't personally seen any need to fork out considerably more for the Silky

Hmmm I have only ever heard good things about the Laplander. It can only be better than the cheap folding saw it is replacing (which I just don't want to use anymore). I'll put it to use in the weekend.  :)

I got a Laplander saw this spring and I like it a lot. Great for garden work and not too expensive!

If you don't have a Mora knife, there is a set with a Laplander saw and a Mora knife which doesn't cost much more than the saw alone.

Love my Laplander and I'd even say it's more important to me than taking a good axe.

I finally used it this weekend to cut up some of the smaller branches and.... HOLY COW! It cuts like a knife through butter! No trouble starting the cut and once it's going, it doesn't want to stop.  :)
OK, so I'm comparing to my crappy cheap folding saw, but still... it's awesome.  :tu:

In total agreement here - you can get a lot done with these things :)

I used my Laplander saw last weekend to cut little elder trees and branches. It was a pleasure to work with this saw, and I am usually not good at sewing wood. But with the Laplander even I can do it!  :tu:

I have one of those fiskars saws with a sliding blade that is locked in outer position with a screw. Its a very good saw, and very light weight, but I dont trust it. I keep fearing that the screw will breakl.
Looks I might be getting a Bacho Laplander come payday. :D

Ich verstehe nicht Deutsch  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

That should be:

Ich verstehe kein Deutsch.

nicht is for verbs. :P

Sorry, couldn't help it. >:D

as long as it means "two beers please !" you're good to travel  :drink:

I once went to Hungary as a guide with a couple friends who had a gig there and I had to go order every round of drinks as the other guy who "spoke" hungarian only knew how to order 5 beers and there were 6 of us. :P I ended up drunk as a skunk as the bartender gave me a free palinka with every round of drinks. :ahhh
