Detron's Toys, (Transformers, G.I. Joe, etc)
on: October 05, 2013, 09:51:14 PM
OK, so over in my $12 display thread Metro said he was more interested in the transformers, and others asked about the toys, so here goes.

These are in the basement, (apparently I need to dust them again, as pointed out by the camera flash)

I am open to trading them, if you need/want something from this, let me know.

The small boxes at the upper right are not official Transformer toys

This Devastator is not the Official Hasbro toy, it is a knock Off

If I can help, let me know

Those were the days  ::)  I used to have a bunch of Transformers too but I didn't take as good a care of mine   Then they got stored in my walk-in attic where they now reside full of rat poop and urine... Ah well...

I wish I had all of mine from my childhood  (not that there were so many, but they would be worth a lot)

I had the original Optimus Prime and Megatron, and about 4 others.

I received the Original Millennium Falcon and an X-Wing one Christmas, but only had them for 8 hours as my cousins house burnt down and they lost everything.  I gave one the X-Wing and the other the Millennium Falcon .  This was my decision as a 7 year old, and I do not regret it, though I would have preferred their house had not burned down.

these are toys I bought as an adult.

a lot of old memories there, I had a whole lot of G.I.Joe figures in the past, and some of the earlier transformers too, I had the original Devastator set... no idea what happened to it, still have the aerialbots in a box somewhere.

yup, it's hard not to add to the collection, and even my wife has contributed a couple of the ones there, but she now claims she can no longer tell which ones I have or don't.

I have to try really hard not to buy toys these days. A friend of mine owns a comic shop that also deals in old toys and I have found more than a few memories there.  Most of my old Transformers are in boxes at my parent's place, and most of my old GI Joes didn't fare so well when I discovered pellet guns and firecrackers.   :ahhh

I have a Beast Wars Megatron and Optimal Optimus kicking around here somewhere, but that's about it.

Since I have an olive drab Jeep Wrangler and a yellow Jeep TJ I am finding it harder and harder not to buy the Hound and Swindle Transformers that are officially recognized by Jeep...

Yes, I actually am that sad...  I just hope they don't start fighting in the yard some night!   :ahhh

I actually still have a garbage bag with several of my old Transformers here in my closet.  However, much like Grant, I wasn't too kind to several of them during my destructive phase ;)  I had Ultra Magnus and pretty much destroyed him by throwing rocks at him as if he were being shot at in battle.  I did that with several, and some G.I. Joes died in various ways as well ::)  I have around 20 Transformers I've collected over that past several years, but like Detron, MTs/SAKs have become my new toys.  I still check out what ones are in the stores, and sometimes really want to get one, but I prefer to save that money towards my next MT/SAK purchase.

Although I wouldn't mind that Starscream (the Classics type one, not the movie version) as I don't have any of him...nothing to offer in trade though.  Maybe someday I'll have something that will work.

They have thier own toys,  however I have lost several of mine to the kids.   They are allowed to play with the open Transformers, but have not asked to in over a year.

I have not bought any tips on over a year or two,  maybe even three.

I never had the G1 version of any of the seekers actually, but the newer ones are better looking representations to the cartoons/comic version we picture them as.  The G1 toys weren't always very good matches to their media counterparts.

@Sawman...you must be talking about Ratchet?

since today is "Throwback Thursday" I dug out my G1 Transformers that I brought back from Canada.

Here's a photo of my "Combiners"  Superion (Aerialbots), Menasor (Stunticons) and Devastator (Constructicons)

Love it Whoey!  I sucked at completing combiner sets unfortunately :(  I only completed the Terrorcons (Abominus I believe was his name).  I had one of the Aerialbots, a couple of the Technobots, three of the Predacons (which I really wish I'd completed as Predaking is a beast).  I'll have to dig Abominus out sometime and take a pic.  It's surprising how small many of these are actually, which is part of the reason I would have liked a completed Predaking.
