:like: Nice MC rvlulu

Looks like there’s some interest for a MC challenge.
I’m not sure what other challenges are coming up- what is the consensus for the best month to possibly do this challenge?

At this point, any month works for me.

It's not a tool I've come to find very useful, sadly, cause the execution on this particular one is quite nice.

What if we did a November minichamp challenge?
If Nov works for everybody I’ll start a thread and get this going!

November works for me. I wasn't planning to carve the Thanksgiving turkey with a SAK, so no conflict there.

I just had an Alox Minichamp arrive in the mail yesterday. It's a little too late for me to participate in the November challenge, but it's still going to be riding in my pocket for the foreseeable future.

Something in the mail today… will be replacing this older MiniChamp as an EDC. It’s my first Alox. No pen or toothpick, bit I think it will be a good thin and lightweight companion for either the SwissChamp or the Explorer Plus.

I think I prefer the soft feel of the celidor scales to the touch, but they tend to age badly when not protected. And they take a lot more space, which to be fair never was an issue to me.

I noticed the nail file seems to be better in the new MiniChamp. The surface is darker or less shining but has a fine grit that seems more efficient.

I like to carry a MiniChamp and a bigger SAK. I remember back in the day when I got the first MiniChamp, how surprised I was with the number of tasks I managed to accomplish using such a small tool. It was able to replace the Explorer about 90% of the time, which seemed amazing to me. Opening packages, cutting nails, working with some screws…

I just couldn’t replace the corkscrew for the sporadic wine bottle opening, but I am sure that after all these years someone must have found a way

Also, I prefer the larger blade in the 92mm line for tasks such as bread slicing or fruit peeling. The thin blades in the MiniChamp and similarly sized SAKs are great for their size, but they are not optimal for some tasks.

I feel the same way.  It's nice to have the choice of tools that both the 58 and larger SAKs have to offer.  I also have both versions of the Minichamp, but the Alox sees a lot more carry time for me.  I like the slightly thinner Alox.

I also EDC both a MiniChamp and a SwissChamp. I think it's a great combination of big and little tools to handle most anything from tiny screws on battery covers to cutting tree branches.

Same here, though I generally carry a large stockman or jackknife along with my MiniChamp.

I wish I had a view like that.
:tu:
It’s one of my faves PC, about an hour north west of where I live in Sydney, the Hawkesbury river

The area has been badly affected by the recent flooding, saw whole caravan parks smashed up, sand all over agricultural land, roads out, tide marks on the sides of houses etc, so pretty sad but clean up was happening and it remains a beautiful place

Excellent shots awl  :salute:
Today I was instructed asked  :pok: :twak: by Mrs Surge to trim some loose threads from one of her work bags.

I tried using the scissors on the Squirt but they were worse than useless (the threads just folded around them)  ::)
The Vic' ones came up trumps though  :woohoo:

Aicolainen, what is the knife you are referring to?  I can't tell from the picture.  Is it a modified Minichamp, or are you saying you use this other, non-Minichamp because you like it better?   Sorry if it was clear to everyone else!

Minichamp Monday started off at the dentist office. Remember to brush your teeth and floss they said  :twak:

All’s I can eat are simple foods for now

The Minichamp and Alox Solo helped prepare.

Doing the MC NTR challenge last month really made me realize how much I love that lil knife. Did the Yeager challenge this month because wanted to see how The executive would do in a toe to toe matchup between the two. For me this is why doing challenges can sometimes be so insightful. While I do really like the Executive- I think they call it a MiniChamp for a reason.  :pok:

The MC is still tops in my book but I wonder what would have happened if Victorinox had made a 74mm midichamp?
