Does it do anything special?

Yes indeed. It does the same thing all TAD Gear stuff seems to do .... lighten your wallet with mediocre products so you can run faster

Most of today's fabrics are ripp-stop. This one is ripp-off. Pretty tactikewl indeed...

A merino wool scarf that is worth 1/4 to 1/3 of the selling price. The balance of the price is for the TAD Gear name so that everyone else can see you got ripped off and spent 3 to 4 times more than you should have done, so they can laugh and point. Without that badge, people might think you had paid a sensible price for it ... and where's the fun in that?

... but you could do all those things just as badly with a £20 scarf

you can cut with 1 euro kitchen knife, you can cut with a 1000 euro custom knife...

You can screw a screw with a Ganzo, you can do the same with a 200 Euro LM MUT....

Efficiency/value for money is not the issue here.
