Since the last time I thouched up the edge on my Lionsteel (Hand sharpened the existing edge) I wanted to get better results from the Sleipner steel. I ordered a Lanskt set, and an additional Sapphire and Leather strop stone. Everything arrived this week, and I set out to reprofile the angle to 20 degrees, and try to get a mirror edge on it. 2 Hours later (reprofiling was hell - even with the most course stone) and I am happy with the result. Btw: Cutting is seriously improved!

I tried to focus in on the edge, my roof terras is reflecting.

I really liked the looks and the quality of the SR2 but it was too thick for me, I think the grind could have been done much better. I won't buy the SR1 because it's gigantic but I think Lionsteel did a much better job with the H.E.S.T. than the SR series ironically

Cheers MWDP. If we would al like the same stuff, we'd all be fighting over the same women. (and over the same color Cadet)  :D For me the SR2 works. As for the stock used, yes it's a fat blade, my fixed blade survival knife is the same thickness. But I like the heft it brings to the blade. The heft, and the lock-up on this knife make it feel like it is a fixed blade. I agree the grind could have neen better, but I fixed that to my liking myself.  :)
What blades other then Alox do you cary?

Currently:

Small Sebenza
ZT 0560
Benchmade 581

I'm waiting on a Strider PT from the USA to see if I'll like it. I have a lot of folders on my to-get list but every time I start saving money, a new Cadet comes up for sale :D I think I have about 23 now

If anyone want a realy great edge on their steel, order green Dialux. Smear some on an old piece of jeans, and use it as a strop. Hairsplitting edge results.

Surprise in the mail today! The Mini-D suspension system from the GAW organised by Mr Gamble that I won! The first GAW I win here. Thank you Gamble, and MTO for having such great incentives going on.
I took a pic of the array of clips, rings, and accesoires that where in the parcel.  I have no idea of what they all are for yet, but I plan to find out shortly. So excuse me while I go and experiment with my keychain and the Mini-D  :)

Congrats on receiving the package from Gamble.

Nice do see a LedLenser M3R. Didn't know they were out. I just checked on eBay and they look a bit pricey but hopefully the price will go down a bit.

I'd love to read your thoughts on it after you've had some time to play with it/ use it. And maybe some size reference shots. :D

New fixed blade: SOG Tech Bowie  :D

I removed the belt clip from the sheath. Around the house, or in a bag, I dont need it.

Results in a nice and compact package

My current largest folding and fixed blade

how do you carry that?
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob
