That's even more interesting, and there certainly could be something to that.  The German tools I have (Wiha) seem to fit American screws at least as well as American drivers, and in many cases at a better fit.  As global as production is now though, I'm not really sure what an "American" Phillips screw is.

I agree about Leatherman--at least the early ones seemed to be somewhere between a #1 and #2 Phillips and didn't really fit anything correctly.  I think that might have been an attempt to make it a "jack of all trades" tool.

In my experience, the Phillips driver that seems to fit the widest range of screws well is the one on the combi tool in the 58mm series.  It locks in place for #2 all the way down to the tiny screws used in laptop computers.

I'll take them both and then some, thank you.
Swisschamp XLT, or Cybertool 50, as you like it.
How on earth are you able to survive without a coke spoon?

It's more noticable with the slotted screws  - LM's ones are just too thick to fit anything in my house, especially the electrical stuff.

In the US, slotted screws in use are pretty rare, with Phillips and Torx as today's standards, and Robertson are rare here as well.

I should mention that the CT41 has more & better options for slotted screws and Pozidriv than the Swisschamp does.

I have every CT bit that Vic offer. I still prefer the Swiss Champ.

Swisschamp all the way for me, if that awesome phillipshead or bottle opener flathead won't do the trick, then it's out to the van to grab the toolbag :D :multi: :multi:
