Director
on: October 17, 2013, 03:52:39 PM
Probably my most used keyring EDC is the Executive, as it is quite well balanced for the pocket not too big or small, with a useful IMHO range of tools, most of which I do use.

I have always desired the Director model, whilst it does not go on a keyring and is without toothpick and tweezers, it is in my eyes a beautiful SAK.

I saw a BNIB Director model recently on a UK website, with 'one only' in stock so I considered and thought and thought again, eventually I ordered it and it arrived this morning :mail: I am so glad that I did a beautiful addition to my humble collection, it may even find it's way into my pocket from time to time.

Nice find!
I was looking for a director too, but the only ones I could find were patterned with my least favourite pattern. Couldn't find one in brushed steel anywhere. Best price I found was 54 euros or something... I didn't bite. Maybe will regret it.
Congrats on finding a beauty before they are all gone forever.

I am sure some people here would be ecstatic if they found out you could attract members of the opposite sex with the right Swiss Army Knife (acronym would look bad there).
so girly might be a good thing.
People at school made fun of my Pink dress shirt,  until all the girls commented on it, then they bit their tongue.

I like the Director as well and I personally do not find it to be "girly" at all.

Thought about doing that myself, but I lack the courage. I just stick to my regular pink g-string, it's more inconspicuous...

It's stainless steel. Silver/gray. Not pink. The photo shows it with a pink reflection/cast.

The scale finish color should look exactly like this, see the Brokers on the top row, and in particular the second one from left:

@macabee

Very nice addition. Was it from Bonds of London? I saw they had some in stock not too long ago at what seemed like a fair price.

Nice SAK! I really like that model. My favorite is my brushed steel version (also my cheapest one). By the way I think some of mine have a keyring.

There's a lot of models that deserved a new edition. Maybe we can find a way to get Vic to bring back some hits from the past.

I may be under the influence of the excellent photography and pristine examples shown here, but the stainless steel scales on the director look slippery to me. Is it actually any harder to handle? Do the different scale patterns aid in grip?

I don't find them very slippery, and I have not noticed any difference in the scale patterns (I checked out five or six different ones). Except the brushed one, that one actually seems less slippery than the other ones :)

All the orange juice generated by the orange peeler makes the knife super-sticky, so it is impossible to drop.
