I hate to say it but the wiki is incorrect about the Pro-Scout only coming with the wharncliffe blade. My Pro-Scout comes with the older combo edge blade with the nail nick cut out.  Definitely not the wharncliffe blade.

I don't have it here, but I believe the Snapon 600 has that blade too Alan.  I thinks it's a Pro Scout configuration.

Need help with my recent "mp600"!!!  :dunno: :ahhh
It was sold as an mp600 but, looking closer, it resembled a Multi Lock Scout (predecessor of the Pro Scout). However, all images and pictures I have found (which aren't much, by the way), show a diamond grit file, Fiskars branded scissors, and nail nicks instead of cutouts on blade and file. Is this a warranty/repair, a rare unit, or something cobbled up? It appears almost unused. What you all think?  [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

Think I got it; thanks again MT.o!  Looks like the Sportman model, with scissors!!! I think its still acool and functional tool so, I'll be keeping it. :multi: :tu:

I found a good condition and reasonably priced vintage Gerber pouch for my MPT. You know the brown leather one with the basket weave pattern on the front.  I got my MPT at a very good price many years ago because it didn't come with the pouch, so I've been after the pouch for a while.

The DF doesn't have all the small tools that are typical in multitools such as the can and bottle openers, assorted drivers, or an awl.  It is strictly a brute force kind of tool. There's no finesse to it at all, but I don't think you'll do any better with any multitool if you have to break a frozen 1/2 inch (12.7mm) bolt.

Its great that it doesnt have small tools but brute force properties since i cannot find any othef with same specs and if i need finesse tools i use my SAK for those jobs. Finally robust tool with good tool set.

Although late for the challenge, my new-to-me- CD has arrived, along with (yet) another MP600 (or should I say Multi Lock!); a Multi Lock Scout. :woohoo: :woohoo:

I’ve historically been a LM and SAK guy, nothing against other manufacturers, just in my comfy zone.  I have also been primarily a fan of large tools (I edc a Surge), and thought those were pretty much all I needed.  Well, this weekend I noticed on the Gerber site that they were having some pretty decent discounts on some items, particularly lower end stuff.  So, I smashed all barriers and placed an order for a few things that will probably lead to other uncontrollable desires, like one-piece tools (which I have always admired from afar), and various utility blade formats (just because).  Subsequently, I await the arrival of my new Shard, Shard XL, Mullet, and Prybrid.  I have also placed the Dual Force and Center Drive Rescue on my short list.
That’s gonna leave a mark.

Latest Gerber is this unused one with someone's name on it.
I figure I'll carry this one and keep my brand new MP400 pristine as a back-up.

That's a nice one Lisa!  I've had a couple of SAKs and still have a PST II with someone's name or initials on them.  I've always wondered what the story is behind them.  How do you like the 400?

I tried to pick up one of these from a buddy who's in a Combat Engineer unit.  He told me he was actually issued a SOG Powerlock.  The Gerber EOD is hard to come by.

Thanks Barry.  I like the MP400 size a lot!
Totally bummed that they discontinued it.  I found this one at a best offer price of $32 & free shipping so I was happy.
I am currently using the MP400, then a Leatherman Leap every other day.

I had a couple of them over the years.  I always thought of them as a Gerber version of the PST II.  I loved the scissors!  I still can't get over them being discontinued.

Today i received Armbar Drive. Gonna test it on next month how good this is. First impression on scissors is bit bad but otherwise it seemed good tool.
