Received my new BO Diesel on Friday. Forgot to post about it here. It's now been gutted and used for a mod with my BO BN MP600.

No pics yet. Should be getting a camera and some time this weekend...

And Bob has an excellent eye. I think Loki has uncovered a new (to me, at least) variant on the version 1 Mr Pinchy    .  All 4 of my v1s ( FPR and non-FPR) have the missing cut-outs and mismatched nail nicks the same as Bob's.

Yet another variant to keep an eye out for [sigh .....]

And found :D  - sooner than I thought AND cheaper too, bonus !   :tu:

Thanks.  Those v1 Mr Pinchys aren't popping up as often as they used to, so it was good to catch this one.

I've added you to my list of "MTs that MTo members are looking for (that I'm not keeping for myself or for trade bait)" and if I find one I'll let you know (or if it is a B-I-N bargain I'll just buy it on the spot and get it sent to you)  :tu:

Yeah yeah, everyone always wants pictures, and they want them NOW ! I don't do pictures (which you very well know, you stirrer  ;) ).  If you are truly that desperate you could always try wheedling and/or begging Matt to do the honours when it arrives at his place enroute to Oz (but I know he has been extra busy lately and hasn't had time to scratch himself).

No problem.

There seems to be lots of v2 to v5 version Mr Pinchys on offer on eBay at the moment (even a couple of BO ones) so if anyone is interested in finding out what the allure is of these old workhorses now is the time.  And the good thing about collecting Mr Pinchys is that supply is still ahead of demand so you can usually find some for reasonable prices  :) (except for v1 examples, they are definitely much harder to find  :( ).

Not sure if most would classify it as a multitool, but I picked up an Obsidian today. Neat tool! Has a nice blade, two screwdrivers and a bottler opener.  :tu:

I gotta admit that I'd not seen an Obsidian before, or if I have I'd totally forgotten about it.  :-[  Looks good and is not silly money.

I don't think I have ever seen a Obsidian before either. Just looked at a picture and i'm interested. Any pictures you can post when you get a chance? Seems like a nice knife at a decent price. What steel did they use for the blade?

I will post a pic this evening. I think as a knife, it is really nice, but the drivers do not lock and the Phillips head does not fit very well in some common sized screws. The flathead driver and bottle opener seem good. I bought it locally for only $35.00 so I am happy with it!

LOL.....I just noticed that in my first post about this thing, I typed that it had a "bottler" opener! I cannot edit it! ;p(.

I did own an Obsidian once.
It was well made, but it was too heavy as a MT companion for my taste.

And I have not seen one in quite some time - I thjink they were aimed at teh same peaople as teh Leatherman Knives with openers and drivers.

Well, here's another new (to me) variation of the 600. Before it was called the Multi-Plier 600, Gerber had a unique name for the different versions. One of them was the "Archer." I thought it simply referred to the blade loadout. But no, it seems that the Archer also has a set of machine-cut notches beneath the plier pivot that are intended to be used for crimping bowstring nocks.

I never knew that before. :)

I wondered what was different about the "Archer" model when I saw one for sale on eBay recently, and now I know - thank you  :tu:
