Today's yer lucky day! :D

It's in this week's flyer.  I'll probably pick up a few of them in case forum members want one- if not, they make great stocking stuffers.

Gerber had a big recall on the EAB about a year ago or so. What was the deal with that?

The original design could have blade fall out of the holder and cut user's hand. I don't have one yet but other people say the blade come with it is super thick and if you replace it with thinner variety from hardware store it's not a tight fit. The new design have the finger guard wrap around the blade so there's no way it can fall out.

Most pictures online are still the older design, take note of the index finger rest and you can probably see what I'm talking about.

Yeah, I was going to buy one at WalMart up until I noticed the recall signs on the glass case!

The recall notice was a sticky here for awhile. No matter how one might feel about their tools,I have a great respect for their forthrightness to get the info out quickly, and willingness to not sweep it under the rug.

I'm looking at a bunch of online pics, but I'm not seeing the change you're referring to...? ???

See the piece cover part of the edge? It used to be like what's in the picture, but now it wraps up to prevent blade move sideways and slip pass by it.

Anyway I picked one up today, very neat little knife. All store should have new stock already so it's okay to buy.

Okay, so now there is like a little U-shape channel to contain the blade edge? That seems like it will work :)

After carry it for some time I love this little knife. Great beater knife to accompany my main EDC (which I use for food as well). Gotta cut something dirty, something may damage the edge, or some goober need to borrow your knife? Sure, the worse that can happen is you are out a 20 cents utility blade.  :D

I didn't get any- I had car trouble last week and I was somewhat preoccupied with that and buying another car (Jeep! :D) that I didn't make it down.  I'll be going there today or tomorrow, so if they have any left I'll grab a few extras and let you know.

2000 Jeep TJ Sport with a 5 speed manual transmission and 4.0L 6cylinder engine.  I bought it Monday night and it's been at the mechanic's place since then getting safety inspected.  As it was a US truck, there are a few small things (like daytime running lights) that needed to be changed/upgraded to be legal for use in Canada.

I should get it back this afternoon, at which point I'll start post some pictures.

Is it true what they say about land rovers, the only time it doesn't leak oil is when there isn't any left?

I would expect there is a Land rover wave.  :D  I wave at everyone with the same car as me.  :D  When I had my Peugeot 406, that was quite a few people.  :P
I'm back!!

Jeep owners wave to each other when they pass on the roads.  At first I thought it was a myth, until I saw folks waving at me.

Jeep Wave

It's contagious, and I found myself getting caught up in it pretty fast.  So much so that if anyone didn't wave back to me I immediately thought they were idiots, and not deserving of their Jeep!
