hook sharpener

my pulse doesn't have a hook sharpener. I own like evry leatherman don't own any with a hook sharpener. any one else find their tool didn't have the hook sharpener?

The only hook sharpener that that I have on a LM is the PST II.

There are a few instances where certain models had hook sharpeners but they were omitted in later models.  Frankly I like the hook sharpener, and wish that the person who decided it was cheaper to go without would fall off a cliff.

I've never had a model with a hook sharpener but it does seem stupid that they took it out, i think most would rather pay the extra couple of $ to get it.

yes, my pst2 also does not have the hook sharpener.

     My earlier model pstIIs have the hook sharpener but the later model one I have does not have it.  I suppose change is inevitable but that does not mean we always have to like it.

Wonder why they took it off (except for $)  I can't see why they would remove so useful an implement on this very excellent file

I use my sharpener just last evenign. At my Bday party I was sharpning my darts and I also used it for fishing hooks. i wish they did just add it to all tools. It just seems so usefull.

I sharpen my hooks on the diamond file, and in so doing I create a little double edged blade on the hook-point. For me it works better, and for some reason that I can't figure out, they snag less on rocks and stuff. FWIW, my hooks are SHARP.

When my hook points are slightly deformed, I squeeze them between my plier jaw tips in the grooves, and twist twist twist until either the defect falls off, or is aligned. Even when I've straightened the defect, it has at least enough strength left (after appropriate sharpening) to set.
