Praise for Gregozedobe and Breezy12!
on: November 18, 2013, 03:26:59 PM
I still don´t know WHY I deserved it, but Greg, in compainonship with Matt, sent me a Tool I had often looked at but never pulled the trigger on.

Much to my surprise I received a Schrade Navitool today  :mail:

It was a very nice gesture from the both of them and - Without wanting to diminish their action - is in my eyes a prime example about the kind nature of this Forum.

Thanks, Guys! I´m fiddling around with this odd creature and grinning liek a little boy on christmas eve.
If I can get my lazy butt in action, I´ll do a small review. This is the least I can do - Share teh joy with the rest of you.

Once again:  :2tu: thanks.

glad to hear that the Navitool made it across the pond safely! :tu:

I agree that it's an odd little creature... I fiddled with it a bit before shipping it out. :D

My wife - who is tolerant with MTs - said she won´t leave teh house with me if I had it clipped to my belt. :)
She said: Why would you carry this when you could carry a SAK, a compass and a whistle you already have with less weight and bulk and better ergonomics ?!
I could not find a clever reason yet, but have to admire her knowledge of my Gadget stash. Although -Maybe it´s not that good that She knows what I already have.  :ahhh

run for the hills!! :ahhh

 :D

actually, my wife saved the day with her Juice while she was out with her friends this weekend. She told me the reaction from one of her friends (who is also a friend of mine) was something along the lines of, "of course you have a Leatherman with you... you're married to Matt." :D

I'll try to help you think of a justification for carrying that tool... but so far, I can't really argue with your wife. ;) maybe Chako can help us?? he's the only one I know who actually carries a Navitool.

My wife - while always nagging me about my tool obsession - snatched a sapphire blue Minichamp (Ohhh! It´s cute!) and a violet LM Juice XE 6 (Sometimes you need a bigger tool!) from my tool drawer. I presented her a nice Inox Opinel No. 7 she carries on ourDay-Hikes and a vic alox USB stick She uses for work.
I guess she´s got her bases covered.

My Missus usually just rolls her eyes ( a sign of bored but indulgent tolerance) at my latest MT acquisitions, but she surprised me recently by asking if I could buy another one for her (I'm always offering her lights and MTs but she usually declines).  But before I could get too excited she explained she wanted to make it into a "steam-punk" brooch - it was one of those cheap and silly tiny micro hammer/pliers MTs with bronze coloured scales

Thinking, thinking ........ ....... nah, I got nuthin' - Sorry Thomas, you're on your own.

I've got a couple of these weirdo's and can't imagine when I would ever want to carry one (that being said I can usually tell where North is just by looking at the angle of the Sun and knowing what time of day it is).

But even so, I keep looking at the I-quip which is arguably even less practical considering it's price and wondering what they are like - I'll probably eventually weaken and buy one just to have a play with one.

that's about the same reaction my wife had when she first saw the Style CS. "It's like a smaller, cuter version of yours!" (my Skeletool CX is one of my favorite EDC tools.)

now that I think about it, she's up to three -- the Juice CS4 I gave her years ago, her Squirt P4, and the Style CS. maybe I need to keep a closer eye on my collection... ;)
