Being empathetic with SirVicaLot, I decided to carry my Bladeless today.  :tu:

I promised you snow and here it is:

I had no idea it would be this early. After the hottest day of the year on Sunday (35C) we hit a new record low for September not even 48hours later  :ahhh

I could not take that heat and humidity all the time. My perfect temperature is when I can wear a fleece jacket :D

I can hear you, man; that only happens here during winter, in the mountainous regions ( mid to low 60°s) but, you get acustomed to it and learn to enjoy year round summer weather. Not bad. 😎 :tu:

I used to work with boots, full uniform, radio, my equipment and helmet in 38°C in 80%  air humidity.

And of course a trusty Gerber Multitool in my belt. (Flik or MP400)

Dreaming about some cold weather.

These boots...

The Multi-Lite recently appeared a couple of times over on the mt.org facebook page so I decided to dig mine out.  Too boxy and bulky for pocket carry IMO it actually isn't a bad fit in an old Nylon multiplier sheath I have.

The light even works!  It was always dim and next to useless, but it still works.  :D

That is great to know; maybe it can be considered as a permanent "firefly mode" .
I'm wondering if the bulb could be replaced with a LED? ... this of course if it is a user and not part of a collection.

Gerber certainly has some interesting concepts. They don't always work, but they always try something new!  :like:

They already come with a yellow LED.  The problem is the lack of voltage from the small single 3V battery (most bright white LEDs need more than 3V to shine with any brightness)

Ok, thanks; good to know. Would've been great if it were "whiter/brighter".

If you are OK with a brighter but still non-white LED it should be pretty easy to swap a bright red one in (note that LEDs have polarity, so if it doesn't light up just swap the leads or the battery around). A fauxton is likely a much more practical solution rather than fiddling around upgrading the LED in a  Multi-Lite.

I have some special low voltage white LEDS, but they have a bulky voltage booster on the base so don't fit where regular LEDs go, and they use a lot more current too (as in many areas of life there is no such thing as a truly "free" lunch)
