How are you two finding the cleaver style blade working out for you? Also, how is the grind? Is it flat or hollow ground?

Tried to get a good pic JonesE but I'm limited with this camera.  It's a hollow grind, and of a good weight.  I've never had issues with this knife or blade at all.  I'm a fan of the cleaver blades, and this knife performs above its price class.

Flatirons cleaver style blade performs pretty good for opening packages and its pretty easy to keep sharp. I really enjoy carrying Flatiron.

Thanks for sharing your experiences Antti and Barry. I didn’t realize it was hollow ground. It seems that is becoming increasingly more rare these days. Seems most knives are flat or saber ground. I do like the look of the Flatiorn.

I broked tip of it when it dropped to concrete floor so its now few cm shorter than normal one but its now good as new one. Gerber blades needs allways bit sharpen (on my experience so far) to get it sharp as razor.

Even tho Center Drive has few issues its pretty good tool to have. Centered drive is great and easy acces to it well as blade.

Went totally off the reservation and got me a Gerber. Feels nice and beefy. A lifelong LeatherMan, I'll give my first ever Gerber a chance. Also picked up a Dime because it was dirt cheap and I've lost my Squirt a long time ago.

Just remember that’s a Chinese made Gerber and can’t hold a candle to the US made Gerbers
