You still remember Hiroo Onada, BT! There was another one, Fumio Nakahira. I was also wondering what murtitoor they had with them that helped them survive in the Philippine jungle for more than 2 decades after WWII.LINK
I'm not aware of any Japanese multitool companies. However, there were a few multitools made in Seki Japan that were then sold by American companies:SOG ToolClipSOG Micro ToolClipAl Mar 4x4Al Mar QuickClipMeyerco ParadoxIn addition, the very first Leatherman PST's were made in Japan.
BINGO! I was doing a search on this Seki City you guys keep mentioning, and found a Japanese company that makes multitools. Not quite like the plier based foldable ones we are used to seeing here, but more like those Caterpillar tools. (Image removed from quote.)Here's the link. They have some SAK lookalikes too.

Do you know how can we order these nice knives/tools online?According to their ordering page http://www.gsakai.co.jp/jp/english/index/kojin.html, it says they can't do paypal or credit card, but will accept money order or remittance. So I guess you can order one and they will ship it to you.
Enlighten me, why would Japan be a place where someone would come across this tool?
