93mm, single layer, awl: does it exist?
on: December 23, 2013, 06:00:26 PM
As in the title, does Victorinox make, or have they ever made, a 93mm Alox knife with the main blade and awl? I'm imagining something like the Pioneer Apprentice or Settler but swapping the second blade for the awl.

I can't see anything on SAKWiki but it seems like an obvious thing to make.

I remember seeing one, but that might be custom...

I noticed last evening that the Swiss Bianco web site lists a 93mm alox Bushcrafter model in 3 colors with the large blade, awl and wood saw.  This 2 layer alox Vic sak is the only one that I have seen recently offered for sale  that comes anywhere near what you are inquiring about while searching different sites located in the US for alox models.

I'm fairly certain I saw one in a old old catalog at some point.  It may have been one of the really old school models though.

Edit: I just reviewed the catalogs on Sakwiki, I may have imagined it.

Never seen it, but I like the idea!

Thanks for the help, I was curious more than anything but it seemed like a useful sort of thing.
