What are you doing with all your extra parts?
on: May 23, 2008, 02:54:32 AM
I have been thinking of taking the phillips driver out of a Kick and putting it in a wave or Ti.
Just wondering what I would do with the extra parts from the Kick.

I see a lot of members here do mods were they get parts from other tools.
Whats everyone do with all there extra parts they have left over?

Everyone got a big jar of multi-tool parts on there work bench?

I haven't done any swaps so I don't have any left over parts... but if I did I think some of them would find their way onto keychains. I think I saw someone do this with a flat screwdriver or can opener or something, but it seems like a useful way to use a number of the "left-overs".

The keychain mod is a good one, most of the drivers work fine in this capacity. I tried it out for a little while, carrying a philips and a large flathead but I never used them so I retired them to the collection box for the time being.

I'm basically saving my spare parts until I get struck with a genius idea or get better tools to make some modded carriages.

I'd imagine you could always sell or trade the spare parts. I'm secretly hoping someone will start a spare parts emporium, wherein I could buy all the extra parts I needed to really customize a wide range of tools.
