I've been meaning to right this terrible wrong.  I used to make fun of the Hammer/Pliers multitools.  The ones where the hammer is like 5 inches long with a tiny head and hinges in the middle as a pair of pliers?  Yeah, I have one of those too.

I was putting trim up in a tight corner and couldn't get a regular hammer in there.  I pulled out this:

and proceeded to put in a half dozen finishing nails without a single mis-hit.  Color me impressed.

Oh, and here's the full tool layout:

Not great, but actually, it did the job!

I ran in to a few of those, always found them looking a bit awkward. But, as you state, they are good at hammering, maybe next time I see one, I should bag it, instead of using my Spirit as a impromptu hammer on the rare occasions I need one, which is a bit of a hit and miss really.

  • Any tool is better than nothing. Some not by much
I've had a few moments using cheapos where I was thinking 'This piece of... Holy Crap! It worked!'

Nice to see some actual appreciation for the misfit tools. :D

I have a strong feeling that you meant HAVE and not GAVE. If not then I'm very confused. ??? ???

  • Don't mistake lack of talent for genius.
Looks like they "borrowed" the tool layout from a SOG ToolClip.. :o
