For a while now, I had thought about getting a DSLR.
I have been shooting digital since 1997, but always with a compact point and shoot. Photography isn't really a hobby, it is simply a means to capture memories of some of my activies. However, I have always wanted better quality pictures.
Over the last couple years entry level DSLR's have become much more affordable, and compact mirrorless cameras offer an alternative to the SLR.
So, today, I picked up a Panasonic G5 in the sales. It is a mirrorless camera, based on the micro four thirds standard. It came with the standard 14-42 kit lens and a 45-150 lens.
I have never used this type of camera, nor do I know anyone who has one. So a leap into the unknown.
