you could replace teh toosl with ones from the MP 600/400 so as long as you don´t break teh lid or loose the whole thing, you should be fine to use it!

I certainly bought mine to use, no reason not too IMO, unless you are planning on starting a mint collection of Gerber gear that is.

Only thing that I've noticed that was different on the Lite was that the cap lifter is significantly smaller than on any of my MP600/400's.  Could be an age thing of course, the Lite is a heck of a lot older than my MP's.

Sorry Paul, I don't have a definitive answer to that, though I believe they are more than ten years old.  Bob's the man to ask. :)

Here's a couple of snaps of the tool selection on mine;

black lid and amber LED.

My membership is now official! It arrived this morning. Only downside so far has been the fact that I got myself in the pad of my right thumb with a Vic inline awl,so the lock isn't too easy for me to operate :facepalm:

I have one marked "First Production Run", so presumably from the early days - but no dates at all, so no help dating them there.

I've never seen a Gerber tool with them.  Zed, did all those Multi-Lites have their scissors marked Fiskars?  Mine is the only Gerber where I've seen the scissors marked as such.

Mine also has "FISKARS" lasered onto the scissors.  And you blokes have stirred my interest again, and I'm now bidding on a Chinese knock-off Multi-Lite (along with 19 other MTs that I don't want or need  :facepalm: )

Can someone confirm that the tools from the MPs work in the Multi Lite? Asking for a friend  :D :P

Also, could someone please post a comparison pic with a SAK, or Spirit?

I've never actually swapped between the two, but I've no doubt they'll fit.

Roughly the size of a rather boxy 5-6 layer SAK.
