Warranty on retired tools--a question
on: May 25, 2008, 01:35:10 AM
Let's say you break a Flair or a Minitool and have to send it back to Leatherman to get repaired. Do they have bits and pieces on hand to fix rare retired tools?

You might end up with a Blast in return,  :( but they might have the stuff to fix it. You could email them and find out. Of course this might not help they may just tell you what I just did :D  ;) good question though.

I have thought about this as well , both my boys were arranging/opening/fiddling with my MT's . I said they had to stay away from the Flairs cocktail fork :o. I think if a Flair is returned too LM a small alarm goes of a trap door opens sliding the Flair straight into the smelter , after which LM denies all existence of said tool , " really you say a Leatherman with a cocktail fork and butter knife , surely you jest" :D :D

I am sure if you stuck a note in with the tool saying how it is important to you etc, they would do what they could to repair it for you.
I'm back!!

I thought of the same thing, and maybe include in the note that if it's not fixable, to send it back as is. I've thought of doing this with a few of my more mermory-laden tools.

Butter knife?  No my dear uncouth friend, that is a pate spreader, but as I've not seen you at any Polo matches lately I'll forgive you...  :ahhh

Seriously, Leatherman has many bits and pieces left over for repairing discontinued tools, and they try to do that whenever they can for folks that ask.

I'd like Polo a lot more if they would smash each other with those big mallets!  :D
